the days aren't so golden anymore

i'm sorry for my serious lack of posting this weekend;
we had to put down our thirteen year old golden retriever on saturday &
i didn't really have the energy to be a chipper,
"hope-you're-weekend-is-awesome!" blogger.
because let me tell you,
putting down the one snuggly, huggable, &
compassionate constant in your life
sucks.
and nobody tells you that.

or at least, i never believed them.
because maggie was better than all of those other dogs
combined.
she was the perfect golden.
all love, no bark or bite.

people often say that dogs are a reflection of their owners.
i don't believe that for a second.
maggie was the best of us.
she was by far the most social,
the most optimistic,
the most loving,
and the most persevering.

i promise i'll be back to posting normal,
{re: less sappy}
posts tomorrow.
{you can even check out my downright
sun-soaked guest post here}
but today, i just wanted to tell you
about the most special, smiley dog that ever is or was.
maggie mo,
we miss you so so much.
{and there's two unopened packs of ballpark franks
in the refrigerator to prove it.}

  1. awww...I'm so sorry about Maggie. How sad. My dog passed away last year and ever since I haven't gotten a new pet, I've just been too heartbroken to get a new one.
