over the weekend...

First off, Park City is crazy beautiful. I forgot how much I loved the western landscape (mountains, trees, lack of humidity... heard of any of those, Floridians?? I didn't think so.) So far we've done lots of hiking, (climbing a mountain 9000 ft above sea level is also unheard of in Florida) lots of eating, and lots of Gilmore Girls reruns (Sam got a migraine yesterday afternoon, so we were all down for the count. Bad news for him, lounging-in-yoga-pants news for me!)

p.s. please forgive my mother's awkward hand in the second photo. her idea of "posing" for the camera... yikes-a-bee.

war eagle.

we toured auburn this morning-- another HUGE, confusing campus. proof? i was lost
before we even started the 9 am tour. it took the secretary at admissions, a $50 parking
ticket, (later appealed, thankthelord) and a toomer's lemonade to get me back to my
wandering family. but what a fun lost morning it was ;)

one down, six to go.

for our first stop on the southeastern college tour spectacular, we visited florida state university. let me tell you, that place is BIG. i think sam really liked it! (things he did not: mom's endless stream of questions for the tour guide.) my favorites: the william johnston building (because it houses the art history and education departments. duh.) and the fsu flying high circus. if i went to fsu, you can bet your bottom dollar i'd be riding an elephant around the circus in some glittery confection.

tallahassee, too, was much cooler than i expected. apart from the drunken, fourth of july girls gone wild routine we saw at dinner last night, tally seemed like a great college town ...but that could be a most excellent turkey sandwich from goodie's eatery swaying my opinion ;) there's more big, southern universities on the docket for tomorrow, but for now,
